Milk has always been one of the most comforting, sustaining and healing foods in my life. There is something about milk and it's wonderful qualities that just makes me happy. It seems as though in my early years I developed a love affair with milk and that may have something to do with my overeating and my digestive health problems. As an adult I learned a lot about nutrition and food choices but still the love for milk lives on, for now.
From the time I could remember I drank milk and I don't think that it has ever really changed in any way, shape, or form. At first I think I thought it was a way to drink more, but the truth is I just liked the taste and the effects of milk on me. A few years ago I started drinking a lot of energy drinks, the kind you get in the soda aisle at the store. After a while I began to drink about two cans a day, but it wasn't for long, not really. I decided to try a flavor that was similar to milk but with more of a lemon taste that my taste buds responded to well. The process to find this kind of milk was relatively easy and in my case it was a local grocery store near me. In general I discovered that there are many different kinds of milk available, some for very important and unique purposes and others that just have some wonderful abilities that make them very good. Milk is one of those substances that has so many qualities and capabilities that you can see why it is such a great healing agent. Some of the qualities of milk can be found in other kinds of milk but milk as a whole, especially cow's milk, has some exceptional abilities. Milk has plenty of immunostimulant properties. It is the fat in milk that makes it effective against infections of the gastrointestinal tract. It also has a number of natural immunostimulant properties and can be very effective against viruses that may cause meningitis, Streptococcus pneumoniae and other similar respiratory diseases. Milk can be a very effective ally against digestive disorders. When milk is taken to relieve bloating and flatulence, it can have a significant effect on gas production, promoting an easing of bowel movements, thus reducing indigestion. It is possible that milk can improve the immune system. Milk has immunoglobulin properties that are very good for the immune system and can help keep the body's defenses up. In fact, milk contains the highest concentration of immunoglobulin in any food source, including fruits. Milk has become a great source of nutrients that strengthen the immune system and also have antioxidant properties. A growing body of research suggests that milk is an effective anti-cancer agent and has been shown to reduce the amount of cancer cell formation in the body. This is due to its anti-oxidant properties. Research into the immune system has found that it benefits from the consumption of fat in general. Animal fats are beneficial for the immune system, when they are paired with protein from plant sources like soy beans, fish, or nuts. That being said, the benefits of consuming milk and the role that it plays in the overall health of the body is best understood through the vast array of properties it has to offer the immune system. Milk as a part of one's diet is a wonderful thing and even when you are dieting or working out, eating milk is a great way to satisfy your appetite, make sure you get the proper amounts of calcium and protein and not leave yourself feeling deprived. Of course, whether you are dieting or working out, it is important to use milk in moderation because the level of fat in it is higher than that in other dairy products, so if you eat too much you will feel the symptoms of obesity. But, it's all about moderation.
